Famous TV actor Anita Hassanandani, well-known for her work on various TV shows, has shown the show’s popularity. The actress discussed the show’s themes and how it tackles the gender equality issue and women’s empowerment in society.
Anita said, “Well, I love the idea because it’s extremely important to raise awareness among rural areas of equality. Women can handle their household chores as well as managing her professional life. We all know that in rural areas, when girls are born, they aren’t provided with the educational opportunities that are required. In reality, they leave school or aren’t allowed to pursue their studies and assume that they’ll need to care for the house when they get older. If this is changed, many things will be in place.”
When asked if she’s encountered similar problems, Anita shared, “So in our industry I don’t believe women are overlooked In fact, at times the female actor is more likely to be paid more since their roles are extremely important in the TV shows. I believe that the movie industry has developed and now we are all on the same page and the film and television industry is treating us equally, is how I believe. ”
She continues, “Usually, we’ve grown up watching regressive narratives but this one, I believe, is a step in the right direction. The concept behind this show is extremely in-depth and requires to be brought to the frontline in order to change the mindset of the people in society.”
She continues to state that everyone will feel the same way because there are a lot of families in India where women’s education is not taken seriously, even though the times are changing. Many women are working and recognizing the importance of pursuing their goals.
She says, “So, a lot of them will connect to it positively and acknowledge that it’s important to let the woman, ‘bahu’ or sister of the house pursue her dreams and career.”
