Maitree is best friends with Nandini and they hope to get married in the same home to prevent being separated.

15 Years Later

Nandini, Maitree, and their children are grown. Nandini is now married to Aashish. Both Nandini and Aashish are expecting their first baby. Aashish has a career as an advocate. Maitree eventually marries Saransh’s younger cousin, Aashish. Saransh, a drug addict who is unknown to everyone, has a car accident. Nandini, Aashish and Saransh get in a car crash. Aashish, Maitree, and Aashish survive the car accident. Nandini goes into a coma following the birth of a boy, while Saransh succumbs and dies. Sona Tiwari, Saransh’s mother, blames Maitree’s death on Saransh. Nandini’s mother, Advocate Vasundhara Rathore, accidentally tells Aashish in front of him that Saransh is a drug addict. This shocks Aashish. Maitree decides that she will take care of Nandini’s and Aashish’s son. Vasundhara tells Maitree Saransh is a drug addict. Maitree confronts Aashish. Aashish attempts to hide the truth but is unable to do so as Vasundhara sends Saransh’s reports to Maitree.

Vasundhara accuses Aashish of being a drug dealer by presenting false evidence in court. He is released on bail and goes to his son’s naming. The son of Aashish, Nandini, and their child is named Nandish. Maitree, Aashish and Nandini decide to raise Nandish.

Six years Later

Nandini wakes up from a coma, and she tries to form a bond with Nandish. Nandish wants Maitree to stay. Nandini becomes angry with Maitree, thinking that she’s stealing Nandish. She turns Maitree into an enemy and tries to cause problems in her life. Nandish refers to Maitree still as “maa”, his mother, after a series of events. Maitree left Tiwari Mansion for Nandini’s sake. She marries Harsh, a man who loves to have fun. Harsh’s father reveals that he is the half-brother to Saransh. Harsh and Maitree move back into the Tiwari Mansion.

Harsh’s mother, Kamna, tries to torture Maitree and kill her, but she is exposed. Aashish is killed in an effort to save Nandini. Saransh, who is alive and well, becomes furious upon learning that Maitree remarried. He pretends to be Aashish and returns to Maitree to exact revenge.

Maitree becomes pregnant and has a son. Saransh takes the child and tells his family he murdered it. Harsh accuses Maitree of being responsible for their son’s possible death and throws her from the Tiwari home. Saransh gives Maitree’s baby to a woman who is greedy and leaves it in the garbage. Maitree discovers her child and decides to raise it but is unaware that he’s her biological son.

7 Years Later

Maitree lives in the same house as her son, Swayam. Harsh, on the other hand, still blames Maitree and adopts a daughter, Juhi. Harsh and Nandini marry for the sake of their family. Maitree’s boss, Yash, proposes to Maitree. Saransh returns and informs Maitree, Harsh, and Swayam that Swayam is their son. The doctor informs Harsh and Maitree that due to Swayam’s illness, they must produce Swayam’s sibling to donate bone marrow. Maitree, Harsh and Swayam reconcile to save Swayam’s live. Maitree breaks off her engagement with Yash, and Nandini ends her marriage to Harsh. Nandini slowly realizes she made a grave error by ending her marriage to Harsh because of saving Swayam. She becomes vengeful and joins hands with Saransh in order to kill Maitree. Sona discovers Nandini’s and Saransh’s plan to murder Maitree. Sona asks Maitree to call Nandini so that she can expose them. Nandini pushes Maitree off the balcony, and she dies.
